The play is the thing. To wit, Shakespeare is an elemental part of every year’s English study at Thacher.

Recently, Bo Manson—English and Woodworking teacher, climbing instructor, lacrosse coach, advisor to sophomore boys, dad to 3.70 Thacher grads (Madi’s finishing up her junior year; her brothers Jeffrey and Tyler, and sister Kylie preceded her), husband to Julie, and Thacher veteran of twenty years—offered his perspective on the concept of re-creation.

The Thacher Parents Auction had a modest beginning:  One Gymkhana Weekend two decades ago, former Development Director Terry Twichell (father of current Dean of Faculty Molly Twichell Perry CdeP 1985) drove a van around campus with descriptions of auction items tacked up on the outside of the vehicle.

Are there smiles any wider than those of grandparents watching their children’s children in action?

Pie in the sky? If the apples in it come from the organic/eat local basket, it’s ok to dream big when the theme is sustainability. That was the message students in last trimester’s Ultimate Civics class imparted when they recently presented their assessment of Thacher’s carbon footprint to the school community.

All that brightness isn't just spring sunshine. The national spotlight shone recently on Thacher’s upperclass students and 2007 grads, when news came from the Advanced Placement Scholars Recognition Program—a branch of the College Board—that members of CdeP 2007, as well as students in this year’s senior class, had earned distinction in APs last year.
