Happy Holidays!

Wishing you a happy holiday season.
A mere two-and-a-half weeks after their return from Thanksgiving Break, our students and faculty depart campus again (or hunker down at Thacher) to spend the holiday season at home with family, friends, and loved ones.

Before going our separate ways, the community gathered for one last time in 2016 to celebrate this festive season with a Holiday Banquet and Concert. To kick off the dinner, the freshman class marched through the dining room performing the traditional Boar's Head Carol, while Jack O'Neill '20 and Fatoumata Soumare '20 carried an artistically crafted vegetable/fruit boar's head to present to the Head of School. All then proceeded to their tables to enjoy a scrumptious meal. The candlelit dining room was warm and cozy, full of smiling faces, delicious food, and some eggnog (of course!).

After dinner adjourned, the crowd then proceeded to the Milligan Center for the Performing Arts where the Jazz Band, Dance Ensemble, String Ensemble, and Chamber Singers put on a holiday show. Performances included some holiday favorites like Santa BabyWhite Winter Hymnal, and a Tchaikovsky ballet piece. The Chamber Singers then led the crowd in some carols, only to be interrupted by a “sudden blackout” and the slowly drawn curtain revealing the faculty on stage ready to perform their surprise rendition of T’was The Night Before Christmas. The students delighted in their goofy performance and departed for break while sugarplum fairies danced in their heads.
