Sustainability Project Makes Headlines

Three Thacher seniors get good press for their manure composting project.
“Many see horse manure as waste to get rid of, but it is a very valuable resource. By composting it, you convert it to very nutritious soil. You close the loop and make your property more sustainable.”

The Ojai Valley News recently published a front page story about a student project to compost manure from Thacher's barns, converting a potential pollutant into a highly sought-after soil enhancement. Their next step is to teach others how to do the same.

The Ventura County Star published a similar story on the same project back in November.
