Off to Middle Eastern History—my World History course this quarter. I like this class because my history teacher always challenges me to use my new knowledge to interpret current events in this region.  History isn't so boring when it relates to something that happened yesterday.

At Assembly the Indoor Committee does a skit announcing a ‘70s dance this weekend; I have to go into town later this week to find an outfit. I grab some graham crackers and milk after Assembly before heading to my Chinese class.

Chem test done! Now it’s time for my favorite class of the day, English. My teacher does a great job of encouraging class discussion and relating our books to our present lives. We have an essay on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn due at the end of the week.

In Photography my classmates and I critique each other’s portfolios. In this class I learn so much about how to develop photographs and look at pieces with a critical eye.

Time for rock climbing practice. Before the season started, I wasn't sure I'd be able to do this, but a couple of my friends and I decided to give it a shot. Now I think I'm really starting to get a feel for it. The instructor said that today we're meeting at Camp Supply to grab our gear and then we'll hike along a trail that leads to a perfect place to do some climbing just off campus.

I really enjoy my formal dinner table tonight. Mr. Mulligan, the Head of School, challenges us to a trivia game—you get 5 points for a correct answer, and 25 points wins you an ice cream cone in Ojai.Even though he stumps us on a few questions, we all have a good time. I serve the table, and we have fresh apple pie for dessert.

It’s time for study hall. I’m working on a rough draft of my English paper. I also plan on going to see my math teacher for extra help on tonight’s assignment.

Time to head to The Commons for a study break (including shooting pool and air hockey) and some social time with my friends before check-in.

I’m back in my room just in time for check-in with my prefects. I like seeing them, because they always ask how I’m doing and help me when I feel stressed out or down about something.
