Often students yearn to pursue a special talent or passion—and to
make this possible, the School created Independent Projects. Taking the
place of a regular afternoon activity, the program is open to
upperclassmen who have shown both long-term commitment and excellence
in a pursuit—for example, filmmaking, instrumental music, songwriting,
poetry writing, photography, painting, or singing. They must also have
completed their riding and athletic team requirements.
Most
Independent Projects culminate in a performance or presentation before
the School community—perhaps a gallery opening, photo exhibit, or a
brief concert to demonstrate and illuminate the work the student has
completed.
