What is your favorite afternoon activity or sport and why?

I’ve really loved doing work with the Environmental Action Committee for my afternoon activity this past year. After classes, I, along with a group of students, would spend the afternoon updating and upkeeping various areas of Thacher’s campus, in line with the sustainability and environmentally-friendly objectives laid out by the EAC. Among other projects, I really enjoyed fixing and relocating the chicken coop, working to improve our solar panels’ efficiency, and building our own hügelkultur to enrich the local soil.

What do you like best about living and studying at Thacher?

It’s hard to beat the type of community that’s fostered on Thacher’s campus. From my first day at Thacher, it was easy to recognize the welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and to feel as though the school is a place I can genuinely feel comfortable and accepted. I’m eternally grateful for all the long-lasting and meaningful relationships I’ve formed with peers at Thacher, and I owe it all to the type of community that has been present through my time at the school.
