    As head of school, I have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of Thacher. But the students would probably say that one of my most important roles is hosting Open House!
  • Most memorable Thacher camping trip

    My junior year at Thacher, day four of fall camping trips in the middle of the Hetch-Hetchy wilderness when Mr. Bird pulled out of his giant backpack a head of Romaine lettuce and the ingredients for homemade Caesar salad dressing. Perfection.
  • Since you asked me to brag, here's the professional accomplishment I'm most proud of

    Implementing our xBlock elective program, which invites students to expand their scholarly horizons through high interest, inquiry-based, experientially focused courses that are just a little out of the box.

    I played rugby at Amherst College. I was a freshman looking for a peer group; it was a confusing time.

    Trying to keep up with my twin daughters and husband—biking, climbing, skating, hiking, swimming, dancing, running, wrestling. Its exhausting!

    Several years ago I was on a trip with some students who were encouraging me to start an Instagram account. I asked them what my username should be and they immediately responded "LadyBpiddy." I'd never heard that name before, but I could tell they were familiar with it. "Yeah, that's your nickname," they explained, "we just hadn't told you about it yet."

    The observatory. Its where I got engaged and lived as a newlywed and where Thacher is now launching a research-level observatory as part of our science curriculum. Plus it really knows how to show off a Thacher sunset.

    Today its Uptown Funk, but tomorrow itll be Bachs “Cello Suite No. 3” and the day after that itll be The Bluest Eye, and the day after that itll be Season 3 of The Wire. Ill keep you posted.
