Sexism in the Modern Olympics: Who do we have to blame?

Many blame the classical Olympics' male exclusivity for the shortcomings of its modern revival, but to what extent is this actually true? My research focused on the origins of the most prestigious international athletic spectacle and the involvement of its founder, Pierre de Coubertin, in the exacerbation of sexism in the modern Olympics games.
