Former Thacher Athletes Make Impact on College Teams

Kennedy Green, Ciara Byrne, and Laurence Jackson shine.
The 2017-18 school year has brought with it some exciting athletics accomplishments by a number of talented former Toads. Congratulations to the following alumni, whose hard work and tenacity continue to impress!

Ciara Byrne CdeP 2014
Ciara learned to play lacrosse on Thacher’s own Upper Field. Today, she is a two-year co-captain of her lacrosse team at Occidental College, was recently named Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Player of the Week, and ended her incredibly impressive college lacrosse career with over 100 goals scored and the school record for career caused turnovers.

Kennedy Green CdeP 2015
While at Thacher, Kennedy was a stellar competitor who broke a number of school records in track and field. She now runs track at Williams College, where she had a very strong season that culminated in an impressive showing at the NCAA Division III National Indoor Championships. In the 60 meter dash, she placed 7th with a time of 7.76 seconds, scoring points that helped the team win silver (its best showing since 2007) and earned her All-American honors.

Laurence Jackson CdeP 2017
After being an integral member of the boys’ varsity lacrosse team here at Thacher, Laurence has gone on to do excellent work at Middlebury College. So far, he has played in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th quarters of every game (at long stick middie) and recently notched an impressive first assist.
