Thankful at Thacher

Some reasons to be grateful captured on video.
During any normal year at this time, most Thacher families would be eagerly anticipating the arrival home of their Toad and, in many cases, preparing for a festive gathering of family and friends. Instead, this year we are all having to temper our expectations, test our patience, and tap our creativity as we look forward to the day we eventually emerge from this pandemic. Until then, if you are like me, you are experiencing some grief at the loss of certain traditions while looking for the good and the joy that remains.

In that spirit, I wanted to share with you a different kind of on-the-ground reflection. To do so, I enlisted the talents of Tyler Manson and Lauren Cerre, married classmates from CdeP 2001 who are on campus this year as videographers. At the outset, I wasn’t sure what form the video would take. But as I reflected on our fall, it was clear to me just how much there is to appreciate in the midst of a year in which so much seems to have been withheld from us. Despite all that we are going through and going without, I hope you will agree with me that there are abundant reasons to be grateful. Included in that sense of gratitude is my deep appreciation for our partnership with all of you.
