Nine Students Win Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards recognize “students with exceptional artistic and literary talent” each year, and nine Thacher students recently were named awardees. In all, 25 awards went to nine students including six Gold Key Awards, eight Silver Key Awards, and ten Honorable Mentions. The Gold Key Awards advance for consideration of national awards announced later in the spring.

According to the organization’s website, more than 280,000 submissions of artwork were submitted for judging by an expert panel of the nation’s preeminent leaders in visual and literary arts.

Thacher faculty members Carin Yates, Seth Boyd, Grace Lowe, and Tim Sullivan worked with each student to self-select their best works for submission to this year’s contests.
