Horsing Around - Student Podcasts Tell History of Horse Program

One of Thacher’s most enduring traditions is that of its horse program. So when Ms. Kesler’s 9th grade World History class began exploring ways to report on what makes either Thacher or Ojai special, three students jumped at the chance to create a series of podcasts telling the story of the horse program.

In a four-part series, Ada ‘24, Annika ‘24, and Zach ‘24 explore topics of trail riding and learning California’s floral and fauna from horseback; the mental and physical health benefits of riding horses; the exciting inclusion of women to the horse program in 1978; and an interesting look at world events and the impact on life at Thacher and within the School’s educational lessons.

Please enjoy the podcasts below and remind yourself why "Thacher’s horse program elevates the student experience to a whole new level.”
