The American Foster Care System
Almost 500,000 children are in foster care in the United States, removed from their homes after suffering from abusive, neglectful, or mentally unstable parents. Removal, however, does not guarantee their safety and as more foster children become homeless, incarcerated, or severely traumatized exiting the system, our society is morally obligated to reconsider how we are caring for these innocent children.
