I teach history, coach girls’ varsity basketball, and advise freshmen girls.
I knew I wanted to work at Thacher when
I first became a teacher! Having graduated from Thacher, I have always considered it the ideal place to teach.
Favorite job perk
Healthy and delicious food all the time...and the pool.
Since you asked me to brag, here’s the professional accomplishment I'm most proud of
Coaching our girls’ basketball team to the CIF semifinals in my first year as head coach.
Favorite places at Thacher
The Outdoor Chapel and the basketball gym.
Favorite place on earth
The book, movie, work of art, or piece of music I cannot imagine life without
This Place, written by Mr. Haggard. It represents everything that I love most about Thacher, and hearing (and sometimes singing!) it each spring fills me with a contentment that is unmatched by anything else.
Hardly anybody knows that
I majored in Chinese in college.
What I wanted to be when I grew up
When I was 5, I announced that I wanted to be a “bootist”—someone who fits people for ski boots.
What I want to be when I grow up (now)
A teacher, coach, mentor, and friend whom students and colleagues can count on...a person who strives to do this work to the highest standards of excellence each day. I feel so fortunate to be here; I want to make sure that I continue to earn and deserve that privilege.
