    Favorite Thacher tradition:
My favorite Thacher tradition is definitely Open House, when our head of school opens her home to the entire school community every Saturday night. So many students go to eat chocolate chip cookies and many other snacks, to play games, watch a movie, and just hang out with friends. It's something that I look forward to every week and it's one of the many things that makes Thacher Thacher.

    Favorite class:
I have loved so many classes at Thacher. In my freshman math class, I was, for the first time, truly taught why the math works and not just the formulas. My freshman English class rekindled my interest in English; our small, 10-person class had countless meaningful discussions about real-world topics, while we also danced on the Harkness table every Friday to a song of our choice. In my junior year Spanish class, I had so much fun discussing any topics of choice with my nine classmates while also reading novels in Spanish and challenging myself in my analytical and creative writing in the language. And in my junior year U.S. history class, we didn't memorize dates and names as I expected from a high school history class, but we instead discussed meaningful moments in our nation's history and compared them to present-day America.

    Favorite afternoon activity:
My favorite afternoon activity is definitely rock climbing. Six days a week, we go outside and climb the many rocks surrounding us on campus or use the rock wall in our gym. It's strenuous but not competitive: the perfect way to unwind after a day of classes.

    Living and studying at Thacher:
The thing that made me pick Thacher over any other school was the school community I saw at my second visit that is different from any other school. It's still my favorite thing about Thacher. Sitting at any table in the dining hall and striking up a conversation with anyone, living in the same place as all of my friends, and being able to get to know my teachers not only in academic settings but as coaches, advisors, and mentors, are all what make being at Thacher so special.
