Rain Event

Joy Sawyer-Mulligan
Winter wet welcomed to The Ojai.
Look up to hills or down to patches of sweetgrass or out across playing fields--all stunningly regreened early this week, a parched landscape drinking in the moisture, leaving little to drip off branches or gather puddlicious for toddler feet (and not a few rubber boots on older dogs). By the time the sun came out on Monday and Doc V--Chris Vyhnal, Science Department Chair--checked in with this official stats from the Thacher campus weather station, it was official: between Saturday and Monday afternoon, 1.29 inches of rain came down. Everyone’s hoping for more--including a few members of the Media Team (students and staff) who pulled on their muckers, went out in the wet, and snapped up the images in the attached gallery.
