|  | There are three key steps to applying to Thacher.
- Submit the Application Forms by February 1. Complete and submit all application forms, accompanied by a $75 processing fee for families living within the United Sates or $100 for families living outside the United States. Candidates whose applications are completed by this deadline are mailed notification of the Admission Committee's decision on March 10. Thereafter, applications are considered on a space-available basis.
- Complete the Required Testing: Register for and take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) in November, December, or January. Registration information is included in the SSAT Student Guide, which is sent as part of Thacher's application packet, or you may register at www.SSAT.org. Results of the ISEE may also be submitted. Applicants for the 11th grade may submit PSAT scores
- Come for a Campus Visit: Call our Admission Office (805-640-3210) to schedule a campus visit and personal interview for a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday morning during the academic week. For a March 10 decision, your visit must be completed by the application deadline of February 1.

Please know you are required to complete Form H: The Supplemental Application only if you are using the Common Application or applying through A Better Chance, The Alliance, The Daniel Murphy Scholarship Organization or The Seeds Organization.
For Home Schooled Applicants
The Thacher Admission Office welcomes home schooled applicants and encourages them to complete the standard application process. However, in addition, we ask that each home schooled applicant submit the following:
- One or two additional letters of recommendation from adults or teachers other than the child's parents
- A statement of educational philosophy pertaining to your child's specific Home Schooling curriculum - please include any state law guidelines.
- A 1-2 page course description or syllabi, similar to a transcript, for the last two years of home schooling
