As director of enrollment and planning, Bill says his favorite part of the day is talking with families about Thacher's amazingly positive peer community. In addition to his administrative duties, Bill is an advisor to senior boys and an enthusiastic supporter of the surf club. After earning his BA at Colgate University and his MBA at Columbia University, Bill worked in advertising in NYC before serving as director of marketing and planning at The Northfield Mount Hermon School. He lives on campus with his wife, Sabina, who is the assistant head of school for student life. All four of their sons attended Thacher and then went on to Colgate University.
Sr. Associate Director of Admission, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Multicultural Outreach
Kim came to Thacher in 2011, after many years working in admission and financial aid at a Boston area day school where she was immersed in all aspects of school life. A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, she studied English, with an emphasis on journalism, at Providence College and later went on to earn a master’s degree in education, with a focus on race, class, and gender, from Tufts University. Close connections with students and peers make Thacher’s community a natural home for Kim, who especially loves the many opportunities to get to know students informally. Kim and her daughter live on campus.
Senior Associate Director of Admission, Casa Dorm Head
Megan is a senior associate director of admission and serves as dorm head of Casa, home to freshman girls. While at Thacher, she has taught AP Psychology and English and has been a part of the HR&S Program (Human Relations and Sexuality). A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Princeton University, Megan went on to earn her Ed.M. from Harvard University and then taught at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, before arriving at Thacher in 2001. Megan and her husband, Jason, love living on Thacher's beautiful campus with their three children.
Becky is the assistant in our Admission Office where she provides clerical and office support. She may also be the first person you speak to when you call Admissions or when you are ready to schedule a campus visit. Prior to moving over to the Admission Office, Becky worked in the Health Center as an administrative assistant. Before Thacher, Becky worked for 32 years as a store manager in the supermarket industry. Becky has two beautiful daughters, Karin and Stephanie. In her free time she loves to cycle, relax at the beach, and snow ski with her husband, Brian. Her favorite part of the day at Thacher is the afternoon when she can hear the horses going out to the field.
Melanie works in the Admission Office here at Thacher. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Melanie made the trip west after graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in sociology. She ultimately put down roots in Los Angeles, where she taught for three years at a small charter school in the West Adams neighborhood. Most recently, Melanie worked at Harvard-Westlake School on the admission team and, for the last four years, acted as the director of financial aid. In her free time, Melanie loves to hike with her husband and her dog, swim, ski, and enjoy the outdoors. She’s also excited to be closer to the beach so she can get back into surfing, but she will still make time for a good book and her knitting. Melanie is especially excited by the opportunity to get to know all of the great folks at Thacher. Acting as a student advisor, coaching, and hopefully getting involved in the Horse Program are a few of the things she looks forward to most.
