    Thacher reached out to me, and my wife and I discovered 
    1. Thacher was just a few miles from where we camped last summer (Steckel Park, Santa Paula -- our favorite part of California) traveling from the East Coast.
    2. How selective Thacher is regarding student admissions, and I saw how enthusiastic the students were when I visited the campus.
    3. How committed Thacher is to diversity and inclusion.

    That’s a toss-up among Miles Davis, Paul Desmond, and the Grateful Dead, with a shout out to the Stones and Paul Simon.

    Took ballroom dance lessons for many years and became moderately competent at some dances, and enjoy karaoke, but am truly a dreadful singer (think dogs howling as they run out of the room…)

  • SINCE YOU ASKED ME TO BRAG, HERE'S THE PROFESSIONAL
    ACCOMPLISHMENT I'M MOST PROUD OF:

    Prior to arriving at Thacher I was teaching the most advanced math classes (multivariable calculus and a college level linear algebra course) at an academically rigorous private school on the East Coast.  Returning alumni frequently commented on how well prepared they found themselves for their STEM courses of study in college. I also created a personal finance class and a business finance class, both of which became very popular.

    Sailing/snorkeling/scuba diving in the Caribbean.
