Privacy Policy

The Trustees of Thacher (The Thacher School, "www.thacher.org") regard the privacy and security of personal information as a critical component of the service that we offer to our alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends (the constituency). The following information explains our information gathering and dissemination practices.

Use of Information

We use your personal data to keep track of you, our alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends, for the purposes of notifying you of events and information relative to The Thacher School that may be of interest to you.

You will be assigned a unique key code that has been randomly generated for you and then choose your own login name and password for access to myThacher. This currently includes alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends of The Thacher School. This key code will be mailed to your current, active address on our database to ensure that it gets into the right hands. If you do not receive your key code, it's possible that we do not have your current address on file or that we do not have a record in the database for you.

If you believe you are missing from or incorrectly listed in any online list or database and you are a Thacher alumnus, parent, grandparent, or friend, please call the Alumni & Development Office at 805-646-4377 extension 223. Upon verification, you will be provided with a key code that will allow you access to myThacher. Only registered users will have access to areas of the Thacher website deemed exclusive to the constituency. You may opt to remove your name or e-mail from online lists or databases at any time.

Security

Information collected by www.thacher.org is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. Thacher uses encryption protocols when sending or receiving personal or financial information over the Internet. The staffs of the Alumni, Development, and Technology Offices are dedicated to maintaining and upholding your privacy and security and are aware of our privacy and security policies.
