• Lacrosse—Girls’ Varsity

    2025 - 2026

Thacher formed one of the first high school girls lacrosse programs in the state of California. In the early days, the Toads led the way as not only the perennial frontrunner in their league, but as the winner of five consecutive state championships. As the sport took off in popularity and became California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) sanctioned in 2006, Thacher's schedule grew and the games became even more competitive. Today, the girls program continues to field a talented and well-coached outfit.

Many who play on the varsity team arrived at Thacher not having played lacrosse before; thus, a rewarding varsity career awaits  those willing to put in the work. At both JV and varsity levels, individual skill development and team unity represent key program values. When the team huddles for their traditional cheer, "Orange, Green, Pride," they acknowledge that they are adopting the goals of the Thacher girls lacrosse program: play hard, honor the game, and always emphasize the best sportsmanship possible.

    About Coach Bearrows:
Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, an area not traditionally known as a lacrosse hotbed, Coach Bearrows discovered the sport in middle school and began playing formally in high school. An all-conference player and captain by her senior year at Oak Park and River Forest High School, she is a firm believer in the idea that dedication and hard work can transform any player’s trajectory, regardless of when they pick up the sport. She went on to play Division III lacrosse at Kenyon College from 2018 to 2022, where she captained the team during her junior and senior seasons. In 2022 she helped the Ladies secure its second-ever NCAC conference title, led the team to the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen, and was selected for the IWLCA Division III Senior All-Star Game. Coach Bearrows has worked with athletes at every level: from beginners picking up a stick for the first time to players going on to compete at the Division I level. Prior to joining the Thacher community, she spent three seasons as an assistant varsity coach at The Hill School in Pennsylvania.
