Pegasus Program

The Thacher School is committed to creating a diverse community in which our students can live, learn and grow. Our Pegasus Program was created to break down barriers that have kept students from historically marginalized backgrounds out of independent boarding schools.  The mission of The Pegasus Program is to provide every prospective student and family with equitable access to our admission process.

Through our Pegasus Program, we hope you’ll get to know the people, programs, and culture that make Thacher so unique. Through either the in person or virtual program, you’ll get to experience our robust academic programming, our student life, and more. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to dive into life at Thacher and see if this adventure is right for you!

Ideal candidates for our Pegasus Program are students who are:
  • A member of a historically underrepresented group (i.e., but not limited to: Black, First Generation, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Low-Income, or Person of Color).
  • Seriously interested in Thacher and are ready for new adventures.

In-Person or Virtual Event Information

This year we are offering two tracks: one virtual, and one in-person. The in-person program includes an all-expense paid trip for a prospective student and their guardian to visit campus on December 8 and 9th, 2024. The virtual option will take place on December 11 and will mirror the programming of the in-person event.

During both the in-person and virtual options, you will get to see our community in action; have a chance to speak with current students, faculty, and parents; get a chance to explore classes and community moments; and learn more about our signature programs.
Space is limited for the in-person event so please be sure to apply by November 1. We have unlimited space for the virtual event.
