Highlights from April and May Assemblies.
Three days a week—Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—the campus community gathers at Assembly to share information, hear a TOADTalk, or make announcements. The months of April and May brought many highlights from these tri-weekly events. 

Some of the many highlights include:
  • Weekly announcements of the gymkhana standings: top ten freshmen and top ten overall.
  • Bill and Carolyn Meyer, visitors to the School, spoke of a study abroad opportunity at the King's Academy in Jordan.
  • TOADTalks on motherly advice, interviewing do's and don'ts, enjoying the journey rather than proccupation with the outcome, graduation (accompanied by a performance of Simon & Garfunkel's Kathy's Song), gratitude 2.0, wisdom of the faculty and staff. 
  • The Chamber Singers performed If Ever I Would Leave You.
  • Weekly Mind Winders courtesy of the Math Club.
  • A few lucky visiting grandparents received a Thacher goodie-bag in a Grandparents Day raffle.
  • David Chao '14 and Nayla Kidd '14 were recoginzed for moving on to the second round of the National Chemistry Exam.
  • Mr. Robinson invited the community to walk through his rose garden, now in peak bloom. View media gallery here.
  • Mr. Snyder announced the recipiants of Maxima Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude for their scores on the National Latin Exam: Samantha Baird '16, Jahmari Josiah '16, Doug Klink '16, Alessandro Lorenzoni '16, Colin Troughton '16, Teddy Williams '16, Marshall Fisher '15, Kennedy Green '15, Anne Gregory '15, Laura Kirkland '15, Sydney Wilder '15, Anand Shah '14, Melani Shahin '14, Alex Demopoulos '13.
  • Mr. Carney's "Dirty Dozen" history class sang Know You're Mine (written by Nan Macmillan '13).
  • Ben Connor '15, Sydney Wilder '15, Owen Yager '15, and Annie Beckham '14 acheived their Advanced Rider Ranking.
  • Next year's class presidents were announced by current class presidents—Sophomore: Elsie Jones '16; Junior: Cassie James '15; Senior: Lexie Kirkwood '14.
  • Daniel Kruth '13 achieved the Top Horseman Ranking.
  • Minah Choi '14 announced as 2013-2014 School Chair.

  • In honor of the last home baseball game of the season Tucker Bennet '16, Teddy Williams '16 and Marc Jiang '16 led the community in singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game.
  • Senior quotations delivered by Maeve Briggs, Hannah Kent, Justin Myles, Leo Turpan, Joe Walton.
  • Mr. Robinson read from Shakesphere's As You Like It. "All the world is a stage..."
  • Thacher's packing team that traveled to Mule Days for spring EDTs won all three sections of the college division.
  • Faculty announce the theme for the 2013 UnProm: The Great Gatsby.
  • Daniel Kruth '13 recited from memory the Oath of the Young Men of Athens.
  • The Open House Mangled Measuring Spoons award went to Marissa Lopez '14, Lucy Meyers '13, Emma Rogowski '14, Emma Whitley '13.
  • Seniors in the Jazz Ensemble performed Want You Back.
  • The Environmental Action Committee Bee Project yielded five gallons of honey and the jars were presented to Mr. Mulligan and Mr. Meyer.
  • Alessandro Lorenzoni '16 and Lachlan Nutting '14 achieved their Horseman's Ranking.
