Thacher's New Fleet
Energy-efficient vehicles have arrived!
Director of Facilities Ed Bennett continues to check off exciting initiatives from his long list of energy-efficient changes planned for the School. Most recently, Thacher partnered with Enterprise Fleet Leasing and Maintenance Services through which we are now leasing a new fleet of SUVs and two pluggable hybrids.
While the new SUVs have already been in use for several weeks, Thacher's new C-Max Energis only just arrived and will start taking trips as soon as next week. These new hybrid vehicles will improve our overall fleet fuel efficiency from 13.9 mpg to 32 mpg. Mr. Bennett commented, "This is more than a 50 percent reduction in our transportation greenhouse gas emissions. Our actual reduction could be higher!"
