J-J Conferred Laurels

Another All-American in our midst.
“Remarkable and rare for a rising sophomore” is how assistant boys’ lacrosse coach Brandon Doyle categorized the announcement last week that Jean-Jacques Ntshaykolo ’13 had been named All-American by the US Lacrosse Association. J-J is one of only 300 or so named to this echelon of player in this year’s field.

Bringing J-J to the spotlight at all-School Assembly last week were Andrew McDonnell, head boys’ lacrosse coach at Cate School (and a member of the US Lacrosse Association Coaches Selection Committee) and Grayson Bryant, who also coaches lax at Cate.

J-J’s qualifications for the honor? According to the USLA’s press release, “A US Lacrosse All-American is a player who exhibits superior skills and techniques and possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge. A US Lacrosse All-American is one of the best players in the United States, while also embodying excellent sportsmanship.”

J-J joins four other Thacher athletes of the last decade who also earned the accolade: Tyler Manson CdeP 2001, James Everett CdeP 2002, Ward Sorrick CdeP 2004, and Connor Schryver CdeP 2005.

Coach Doyle, himself a High School All-American from Newton, MA, wrapped it with this: "It was a pleasure to see J-J grow as a player this past spring—and now, to be recognized in this way for his hard work and skills on the field."
