Player Profile: Senior Joanna Knutsen excited for her final season!

Girls Varsity Soccer captain shares her thoughts on her Thacher career.
Hailing from San Francisco, CA, Joanna Knutsen ‘14 has been playing soccer since she first stepped onto campus her freshman year. As she heads into her final season, as both a senior and team captain, we got a chance to catch up with her and ask her a few questions about her thoughts on the upcoming season:
1) What is your history in soccer?
For pretty much my entire life I've played soccer.  My dad used to be a soccer photographer and  he  got my siblings and me into it when we were young. I played on a team in San Francisco called the Courage.
2) Why do you love soccer?
I have always loved the sport! It's been a huge part of my family and I am very grateful for that. I've never gotten sick of soccer because there are always things i can improve on and get better at.
3) What are you excited for this season?
We lost nine seniors from last season, so the team is going consist of a lot of new people, and have a brand new dynamic. I am excited to play and get to know everyone a lot better. I am counting down the days until the first game!
4) What is some advice you have for other soccer players?
Ive always been told to play and practice with my left foot as much as my right, and i think that's an important skill to learn.
5) Do you plan to play soccer in college?
I hope to! I'm not sure how everything will work out but, I am excited to play at any level.
With a versatile history and drive to succeed, Joanna will undoubtedly perform as an excellent role model for her team as they tackle New Community Jewish High School in their home opener. Great work, Joanna!
