Extremism and Political Violence in America: How has the polarization in American politics contributed to the normalization of cults and extremist beliefs? 

As the spread of misinformation floods our social media timelines, the question “How did the world’s most powerful country get to this point” concerns many Americans.  To explore the rise of polarization in America I look at the similarities between cults and political parties and the enabling of hate-based groups by American politicians.
